Richmond calls food event 'sweet success'

More than 100 people visited Richmond American's Home Gallery Feb. 24 to enjoy A Sweet Celebration, a complimentary event featuring live cooking demonstrations by Michael Jordan, executive chef and co-owner of Rosemary's Restaurant.

Visitors enjoyed samples and learned expert culinary techniques while watching Chef Jordan prepare several of his favorite recipes, including goat cheese cheesecake, roasted chestnut soup, and barbecue shrimp with Maytag blue cheese slaw.

In addition, seven lucky attendees took home prizes, including GE Wine Coolers and gift certificates to Rosemary's, 8125 W. Sahara Ave.

The event mirrored the success of the exclusive event held just for Realtors the previous Thursday evening.

More than 200 realtors attended the gala, which included a string quartet, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and tastings, prize giveaways and culinary demonstrations.

Realtors were also able to learn about the Home Gallery's one-stop client registration and convenient home-buying services.

Both events were held to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, with Richmond American making a donation in Chef Jordan's name.

"These were the first culinary events we've held at the Home Gallery, and they were a huge success," said sales agent Susan Lee. "Chef Jordan is a local favorite, and he was absolutely amazing. He not only prepared meals, but he walked around the audience entertaining people and giving helpful tips on where to buy certain products and ingredients. He gave a number of demonstrations, and each one was met with accolades and applause. The food was delicious, the presentations were professional, and everyone had a lot of fun. In fact, A Sweet Celebration was so successful, we're already looking forward to our next event."

Richmond American plans to hold a variety of informative seminars and events at its Home Gallery, including home-buying and interior design seminars with professional design consultants and additional culinary demonstrations.

The next event is HomeBuilding from the Ground Up, an informative seminar that will walk home buyers through every step of building a new home, from selecting a floor plan to choosing design options to learning about mortgages.

"Home Building from the Ground Up" is scheduled for March 24. For more information, contact Casey Haman at 702-638-4445.

"Our events are a great opportunity for people to come in and experience everything the Home Gallery offers," Lee said. "Richmond American takes pride in standing apart from other builders by offering an affordable price, a distinctive product and a chance to really personalize your home from top to bottom. And the best part is, you don't have to be a home buyer to visit the Home Gallery. Anyone can stop by and browse floor plans and communities, take virtual model tours, walk through model kitchens and explore design options. Everything you could possibly need is right here. The thing we heard from people again and again during our culinary events was, 'Wow! I had no idea how great this place is.' "

To visit the Home Gallery, take Interstate 15 to the Blue Diamond Road Exit. Go west on Blue Diamond, north on South Dean Martin Drive, and right on Robindale Road. Take the first right into the parking lot, then take an immediate left and follow the parking lot to the Home Gallery, which is located at 7770 S. Dean Martin Drive, Suite 10.

For added convenience, the Home Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. To take a virtual tour online, visit DiscoverHomeGallery.com.
