Pahrump honors Mountain Falls master- planned community

Mountain Falls and its master developer, William Lyon Homes, were honored with the Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce's Cornerstone Award, an annual award that recognizes outstanding contributions to the community and chamber. Located in Pahrump, Mountain Falls is a 1,050-acre master-planned golf course community in its third year of development.

Mike Cosgrove, project manager, accepted the award during the Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce's installation banquet held on Jan.19 at The Mountain Falls Grill Room. "This is a very prestigious honor that means a great deal to all of us at William Lyon Homes. We're proud to be associated with a project that's making such a significant positive impact in Pahrump," said Cosgrove, a Pahrump resident and past president of the Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce. "Mountain Falls has become the beautiful community we all envisioned from the beginning. It sets a new standard in Pahrump."

The community has become home to as many as 350 families, and is being developed around Mountain Falls Golf Club, an 18-hole parkland course.

The developer has been building single-story neighborhoods at Mountain Falls since the master-planned community's 2005 debut. The neighborhoods of Cascata Ancora, Tramonto and Bella Sera are currently selling, with Cascata already sold out. Classic Homes, Desert Wind Homes and Celebrate Homes are slated to debut homes in the community.

Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce CEO Kari Frilot, said her vision for Pahrump is continued growth with an infrastructure to match. "Mountain Falls is helping to make our vision reality. William Lyon Homes opened the door for change in Pahrump by introducing a development with affordable, appealing homes," Frilot said.

The community's Mountain Falls Grill Room offers banquet facilities for up to 300 guests, while the Mountain Falls Golf Club offers residents a complete fitness center, locker rooms and resident lounge with pool table. Outdoor amenities include a family pool, adult pool, spa and interactive water-play area. Upon completion, the development will include neighborhood mini parks and a four-mile walking trail. Homeowner association fees are less than $50 per month, according to the developer.

Prices in Cascata Ancora, Tramonto and Bella Sera start in the low $200,000s.Floor plans range from 1,429 to 2, 897 square feet.

To visit from Las Vegas, travel 45 miles west on Highway 160 (Blue Diamond Road) past Interstate 15. Before reaching Pahrump, turn left on Manse Road.
