Ted and Remy Mariano are the first buyers to purchase at Meritage Homes' Summer Trail at Mountain's Edge.
The couple said location initially lured them to the southwestern community. It was the builder's design that led them to purchase.

"We looked in the northeast and southeast, but decided to visit Mountain's Edge because it's close to Remy's job. It really is the new southwest and it's convenient to every major route," said Ted Mariano, now retired. "At the time, Summer Trail was in its early planning phase and model homes were under construction. It didn't matter. Remy took one look at the floor plan and told the sales agent we'd take it."
Summer Trail is a gated neighborhood of three two-story home designs from 2,318 to 3,028 square feet.
The Marianos purchased the Westfalls plan. The 2,641-square-foot design includes four bedrooms, three baths, breakfast nook, tech center and three-car tandem garage.
Structural variations can include a master retreat, covered patio, loft, fifth bedroom and fourth bath or a sixth bedroom. A family room and adjacent kitchen occupy the back of the home; formal living and dining rooms are situated near the front entry.
Sweetwater and Suncreek floor plans are also available. Structural variations, based on floor plan, include covered patios, dens, additional bedrooms and master retreats.
Every floor plan offers three exterior elevations inspired by Spanish Colonial, Tuscan or Southern Italian architecture.
Prices start in the upper $300,000s. For a limited time, the builder is offering grand opening incentives with the use of its preferred lender.
Model homes are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except Monday, when they open at 11 a.m.
To visit, take Interstate 15 south, exit at Blue Diamond Road and travel west to Buffalo Drive. Turn south on Buffalo and proceed past Mountain's Edge Parkway, following the signs to the community.
