Retail-office center nears completion

Construction is well under way for Northbrooke, A Business Park on North Rancho Drive adjacent to Craig Road in Las Vegas.

Northbrooke LLC, the developer, broke ground for the $15 million, gated retail-office complex in August 2003. The 101,500-square-foot project comprises seven single-story buildings, available for sale or lease, on nearly 8 acres.

Frank G. Linden, vice president, said the three-building first phase will be completed in mid-April; the final phase by July.

"The northwest area is one of the fastest growing in the county, and there is a tremendous need for office space in this area." he said. "As far as retail, we will provide services to all of the people in the area."

Two buildings are designated for retail use and measure 13,077 square feet and 16,363 square feet. The five office buildings range from 8,448 to 24,306 square feet.

Linden, who developed the nearby Lido Plaza shopping center in 1996, said the Northbrooke buildings' design reflects a "residential ambiance" with tile roofing and stone accents. A centrally located landscaped park is surrounded by wooden bridges and benches, and is complemented by waterfalls.

Las Vegas-based James E. Stroh is the architect and Contractors West is the builder.

Linden said four of the buildings have been sold, but could not identify the buyers because the purchases are in escrow.
