Sun City home buyers believe in Del Webb

Larry and Carol Hopkins believe in Del Webb communities and have purchased three of the builder's homes.

"We lived in Sun City Summerlin for many years and then relocated to Anthem Country Club for a couple of years. We missed the active-adult component of the community, however, so we started looking at the nearby Sun City Anthem. When we found the Liberty model, we knew we wanted to live there," Larry Hopkins said.

Although the 2,179-square-foot design has been discontinued, seven models measuring at least 2,000 square feet are available.

"We added the casita option. With all of our out-of-town visitors, it's nice to have the extra space adding privacy for both our guests and ourselves," Carol Hopkins said.

They both said they enjoy spending time at the Anthem Center, a 77,363-square foot recreational facility with fitness and social opportunities for residents, as well as Trumpets Restaurant and Lounge, which is open to the public.

"We use the indoor walking track quite a bit; that allows us to exercise no matter what the weather. The pool and other activities are wonderful, as well as Trumpets restaurant," she said.

Additional recreational opportunities can be found at The Revere at Anthem Golf Club, which has two 18-hole championship courses.

Twelve designs ranging from 1,496 to 3,175 square feet are available. Homes are priced from the low $330,000s to more than $600,000.

All have the builder's Environments For Living technology with energy-saving features such as low-e windows and cocoon insulation. In addition to earning the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star label, the homes offer a three-year heating and cooling energy-use guarantee.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, turn left on Anthem Parkway and then turn right on Alexandria Drive.

The sales office and models are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
