MonteLago Village releases vision statement

A vision statement has been released for MonteLago Village, a development within Lake Las Vegas Resort in Henderson. The statement reflects the project's planning, design, construction and ongoing operation.

"Some of the images and ideas within the planning document are conceptual and some already exist," Sherri O'Boyle, director of sales and marketing, said.

"This is a culmination of all the disciplines necessary to create a village of this magnitude. It is a picture of the possibilities. From the view that captures the majesty of the surrounding mountains to people watching and lively entertainment by the lake's edge, future residents and guests of MonteLago Village will have a clear idea from this document what to expect."

Plans at the village include plazas, boutiques, narrow streets, sailboats, kayaks and gondolas. Water taxis will transport passengers to hotels, clubhouses, waterfront restaurants, residential neighborhoods and parks. Other plans include a 40,000-square-foot casino, a spa, as much as 125,000 square feet of retail space, and a Ritz-Carlton hotel.

The first phase of the village will feature as many as 170 furnished condominiums, ranging from studios to three-bedroom units.

"To truly get a feel for all of what MonteLago Village will offer, including the spa, dining options and entertainment, one must look no further than the MonteLago Vision," O'Boyle said. "We have laid the groundwork for the vision which will soon become a reality."

Construction has begun on the project, which is scheduled to open in the fall 2002.

Intrawest is developing the village in coordination with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co., Cook Inlet Region Inc., and Transcontinental Properties Inc., the developer of Lake Las Vegas Resort.

To visit Lake Las Vegas Resort, take Lake Mead Drive seven miles east of Boulder Highway to Lake Las Vegas Parkway.
