Three builders add variation to Summerlin's Ladera
Subdivision mixes floor plans from different builders
More than 100 homes have been sold at Ladera in The Mesa village within Summerlin, according to representatives of The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of the master-planned community. The Mesa is the newest and most southern village to date in the community.
Ladera will comprise 616 single-family residences built by KB Home, Richmond American Homes and Engle Homes.

KB Home's eight floor plans range from 1,642 to 2,786 square feet and are priced from the mid-$300,000s.
Richmond American's six designs measure 1,962 to 2,804 square feet and are priced from the mid-$400,000s.
Both builders have opened model homes, many of which showcase outdoor living areas.
Engle Homes plans to start sales in summer for its three floor plans, which range from 2,027 to 2,587 square feet.
"With 17 different floor plans featuring dozens of architectural styles in one neighborhood, Ladera is designed as an architecturally diverse and attractive neighborhood," said Julie Cleaver, director of planning for Hughes Corp.
A neighborhood park and swimming pool are under construction, she said, and scheduled for completion this summer.
"Ladera's park and pool area are expected to be popular recreational and social amenities. We're confident many residents will escape the soaring summer heat by cooling off in their own private neighborhood pool."
The Mesa is the community's 19th village and encompasses 497 acres. Several neighborhoods are planned, as is a large-scale park; public elementary school; and private high school, which is expected to open for the 2006-2007 academic year.
Aligning the western edge of the Las Vegas Valley, Summerlin is home to more than 100 city and neighborhood parks, more than 120 miles of trails, houses of worship, medical facilities, retail centers, cultural facilities and business parks. Nearly 100 model homes are open for viewing.
Single-family homes, townhomes, lofts and condominiums are priced from the mid-$300,000s to more than $2 million.
Custom-home sites are priced from the $500,000s.
Monthly rent for apartments starts from the low $900s.
