Kicker: Lake Las Vegas partners with Sotheby's

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Lake Las Vegas Resort has formed an agreement with Sotheby's International Realty and its partner, Synthesis Realty, to market the luxury property's estate sites and homes to their domestic and international clientele.

The development in Henderson opened for sales in 1993, and is being developed around a 320-acre man-made lake that is complemented by championship golf courses and resort hotels.

"Lake Las Vegas Resort is an extraordinarily beautiful location with all of the amenities required by the most discriminating home buyer. It has quickly emerged as one of the world's most desirable places to live, visit and play for the up-market consumer," Robert Burnett, president of Synthesis, said.

Residential options are available on both shores of the lake, and range from custom-home sites and waterfront homes to golf villas and courtyard townhomes.

SouthShore, a 550-acre gated development, features custom-home sites priced from the low $300,000s to more than $2 million. View lots are available.

Developed by Villas at SouthShore, MiraMonte is comprised of 23 waterfront villas, ranging from 2,867 to 3,119 square feet. Prices start at $1.5 million and include a private dock.

Another neighborhood is PortaCielo, where 72 homes measure from 2,460 to 3,500 square feet and are priced from $500,000 to $700,000. PortaCielo, developed by Innovative Resort Communities, is set in the hills above the lake and offers views of its surrounding landscape.

SouthShore Golf Villas overlook SouthShore Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus-designed course that is open exclusively to SouthShore's homeowners. The villas are a development of Lake at Las Vegas Joint Venture. Each villa measures about 950 square feet, and is situated adjacent to the golf course.

There are three residential offerings on the lake's northern shore, and all are adjacent to the daily-fee Reflection Bay Golf Club, also designed by Nicklaus.

AmLand Development offers Vila di Lago, a hillside development of courtyard townhomes, as well as single-family homes. The detached homes are available in single- and two-story designs, and measure from 1,855 to 2,536 square feet. The attached townhomes range from 1,603 to 2,526 square feet and are priced from $409,000 to $650,000.

Sorrento, a MarQuis Homes neighborhood, is comprised of 52 single- and two-story homes. Buyers can choose from four floor plans, ranging from 3,000 to more than 4,850 square feet. Prices start from the $600,000s.

Ravello, developed by Dempsey Construction Corp. and InnovaHouse, features 24 villas measuring from 1,972 to 2,300 square feet and priced from $501,000.

The north shore is also home to the Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas Resort.

Also under development at the resort is MonteLago Village, which will feature a 350-room Ritz-Carlton hotel, spa facilities, a 45,000-square-foot casino, boutiques, waterside restaurants and offices. It is set to open in late 2002.

MonteLago will also feature the Viera condominium development, where buyers can choose from studio units and units with one, two or three bedrooms. Prices range from the mid-$200,000s to more than $1 million.

Another village element will be a bridge spanning the western end of the lake, designed to replicate Italy's Pontevecchio Bridge and featuring a pedestrian promenade.

Lake Las Vegas offers swimming, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, wind surfing and sport fishing, as well as a marina with a boat launch, store, electric boat rentals, boat maintenance and new boat sales. Located adjacent to the marina, the private South- Shore Yacht & Beach Club provides a beach, picnic and lawn area, an outdoor pool and spa, a fitness room, and tennis and basketball facilities.

The Tom Weiskopf-designed Falls Golf Club, the resort's third golf course, is scheduled to open for play this fall. The fourth course, Rainbow Canyon Golf Club, will be designed by Tom Fazio and is expected to open in 2004.

To visit the resort's Discovery Centre, take Interstate 515 to Lake Mead Drive and head east to Lake Las Vegas Parkway. Or, take Interstate 215 to Lake Las Vegas Parkway. Office hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
