Red Rock rolls out red carpet for Valentine's Day
Red Rock Country Club rolled out the red carpet for members and their children for Valentine's Day. More than 80 children participated in an afternoon event decorating Valentine's cards and enjoying refreshments. "The Valentine's craft party was a big hit," Terry Parr, membership director, said. "Because we are a family-oriented club, we are always designing events and activities for our youngest members to participate in. At Christmas we also hold a cookie decorating party and for Halloween we hold a pumpkin painting party." On Valentine's Day, members gathered in the clubhouse for the club's first Sweetheart Dinner. Strolling violinists serenaded guests during dinner, with a band playing dance music afterward. "It was a perfect evening. After a wonderful meal, our 206 guests danced until midnight and then each woman was presented a rose as she left," Nick Corey, assistant general manager, said. Site of community social activities, the 44,000-square-foot clubhouse offers views of Las Vegas' skyline and surrounding mountains. It features indoor and outdoor dining opportunities, as well as banquet and meeting facilities. Additional amenities include the nearly 10,000-square-foot sports club complete with fitness equipment, saunas, steam rooms, aerobics studio, massage therapy rooms and locker rooms; an aquatic center with pools, a spa and outdoor grill; and a tennis center with nine lighted courts. One of the community's two 18-hole golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer has been completed. It is complemented by a practice facility and pro shop that features men's and women's locker rooms with saunas, steam rooms, private lounges and media centers. Set against the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, the 738-acre, guard-gated community will comprise 1,116 homes, many of them aligning the golf courses. Priced from the $350,000s to more than $2 million, the one- and two-story designs feature as many as six bedrooms and four-car garages. They measure from 2,300 to 5,300 square feet. "Five teams of nationally renowned architects and ... interior designers worked together to create a community that's in visual harmony with this beautiful high desert area," Kevin Stall, vice president of sales, said. Among the customizing options are casitas, courtyards with fireplaces, sit-down wet bars, and master-bedroom retreats with media niches and fireplaces. In addition, the Sunsation program allows for a variety of customizing options including structural changes, room additions and construction of swimming pools, as well as upgraded landscaping, patio and lighting designs. Staff at the on-site sales center and design studio can help home buyers with their customizing decisions. To visit, take Sahara Avenue west past Town Center Drive and follow the signs. Or, take Interstate 215 to Sahara and head west. The sales center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
