Dusty-Shoe Preview: US Home plans festive openingSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
A dusty-shoe opening is planned today at Spanish Springs, a US Home neighborhood in the northwestern valley. Two model homes are under construction at the site. "The models are at the final stage, so our dusty-shoe opening gives buyers a great preview of what the community has to offer," project manager John Yoe said. Festivities are from 1 to 3 p.m., and include a radio remote, free gifts, as well as hot dogs and soda. A caricature artist will be on hand to provide free drawings. The gated neighborhood is being developed south of Ann Road and west of U.S. Highway 95. "We call it town-and-country living," Yoe said. "There is truly a rural feeling at Spanish Springs with Lone Mountain as a backdrop." Planned amenities include a neighborhood park with a pedestrian path, exercise stations and picnic tables. Six floor plans are available, priced from the low $300,000s. Twenty homes are under construction, including the two models -- the single-story Brentwood Expanded at 3,070 square feet, and the two-story San Clemente at 4,500 square feet. The two plans are the most popular to date, however, Yoe said, "With the reaction we're receiving from our recent introduction of the two-story Coronado, it looks like we have another top-selling design." Highlights of the Coronado include a turret entry, an optional courtyard entry, split three-car garage and a varied roof line. The master suite provides a coffered ceiling, optional veranda, dual walk-in closets and two bath designs. The bath features dual vanities, linen storage, a garden tub or optional spa tub, and walk-in shower. All of the homes offer expandable and flexible interior design options, according to Yoe. "Our buyers also have almost unlimited interior and exterior upgrade options available through our US Home Design Center. Granite counters, ceramic-tile bath and shower surrounds, two-tone paint, and exterior pop-out detailing on all windows are just a few of the standard features at Spanish Springs," he said. "But that's just the beginning. Buyers can really personalize their home, including not just the number of bedrooms and baths, but almost every detail of the home's personality and style." Exterior design options include rock, brick or stone trim; extended patios; and front elevation verandas. The Brentwood Expanded can be built with two to five bedrooms, as many as three baths, and design options that include a two-bedroom plan with dual master suites, a den or study, and bonus room. Buyers can select a fireplace design in the family room, an extended kitchen pantry and an extended closet in the master suite. The kitchen features a bar counter with seating for 10, upgraded oak cabinetry, a dining nook with optional bay window and dual ovens. A covered entry is standard. The San Clemente has a 19-foot ceiling in the entry and living room area. It provides as many as seven bedrooms, including an upstairs master suite with a retreat and optional fireplace. Two design options are available for the master bath and dual walk-in closets. Additional highlights include formal living and dining rooms, as well as a family room with a media niche, fireplace and optional wet bar. The kitchen contains a dining nook. Buyers can also choose from three other floor plans, all of which are single-story. The 2,873-square-foot La Jolla can be expanded to 3,070 square feet; The Phoenician, a 3,184-square-foot design, can be expanded to 3,384 square feet; and the 3,719-square-foot Camelback is expandable to 3,923 square feet. To attend today's event at Spanish Springs, take U.S. Highway 95 north to Craig Road, head west to Durango Drive and turn north. Proceed to Lone Mountain Road, go west to Fort Apache Road and follow the signs. Sales office hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at 11 a.m. US Home is also developing Aberdeen at Southern Highlands, a golf course community in the southwestern valley. Homes are priced from the high $200,000s. To visit, take Interstate 15 to Blue Diamond Road, exit west to Decatur Boulevard, go south to Somerset Hills and head west. The builder recently announced two new gated, cul-de-sac neighborhoods. Post Park features nine home sites and floor plans ranging from 3,000 to 4,100 square feet. It is located at Jones Boulevard and Interstate 215 in the southwestern valley. El Capitan Estates, located at Ann Road and El Capitan Way in the northwestern valley, is comprised of eight home sites. Single- and two-story homes measure from 3,000 to 4,100 square feet. Homes in both neighborhoods are priced from the high $300,000s.
