Waterfront lots released at Lake Las Vegas

Waterfront home sites have been released at PortoVillagios, a neighborhood within Lake Las Vegas Resort in Henderson.

The 13 home sites, which are in the gated SouthShore development, measure from 8,000 to 13,000 square feet and are priced from $550,000 to $1.5 million.

"We are proud to offer these private waterfront home sites to the public, since there are very few waterfront home sites available in Southern Nevada," Jack Christie, vice president of sales and marketing at the resort, said.

Residents will have the opportunity to purchase a membership to SouthShore Golf Club, SouthShore Yacht & Beach Club and the Harbor Club, all of which are private. In addition, residents have the option of adding a dock to their home site, which would provide direct access to the community's 320-acre lake.

Lake Las Vegas Resort offers a range of residential options, including waterfront homes, golf villas, townhomes and single-family homes terraced into the hillsides. Potential residents can take a free 45-minute water taxi ride on the lake.

The resort features two Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses: SouthShore Golf Club and the public Reflection Bay Golf Club. The Falls Golf Club, a public facility designed by Tom Weiskopf, is slated to open in September. The Tom Fazio-designed Rainbow Canyon Golf Club is scheduled to open in 2005.

A 496-room Hyatt Regency hotel is on-site with a fitness center plus a casino. A 350-room Ritz-Carlton hotel is under construction and expected to open early next year.

The Ritz-Carlton is part of the MonteLago Village development. When it opens early next year, the village will feature a bridge linking the resort's northern and southern shores, as well as a spa, casino, boutiques, waterside restaurants and cafes, office space, and condominiums.

A full-service marina is open and provides a boat launch; convenience store; boat cleaning, maintenance and refreshment stocking services; new boat sales; and boat and water toy rentals.

The yacht and beach club includes a picnic and lawn area, and outdoor pool and spa.
