Cottages accelerates expansion project

The Cottages of Green Valley, an assisted living and memory care community in Henderson, has accelerated construction of its final two 12-suite cottages and an activities center.

"There is a great need for quality senior care in a familiar home-like setting," owner Donna Genena said.

The gated community, which has been open and operating for two years, offers family-style living in single-story cottages. It offers an activities program that includes trips, musical entertainment and games.

"Many of our residents are from out of state. Some have followed their families out west. For others, this is just another move in their retirement plans," administrator Sue Weibel said.

The final phase of construction is set for completion by mid-summer.

The community is open to visitors from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

It is located at 2620 Robindale Road.
