Summerlin Realtors enjoy Catalina Island retreat
The Howard Hughes Corp. recently showed its appreciation to more than 20 of Summerlin's top-selling Realtors and on-site sales agents with an all-expense-paid, one-day trip to Catalina Island in California. All participants are members of Summerlin's elite "Circle of Excellence" for 2000. With 3,173 new-home sales in Summerlin last year, 51 percent were attributed to Realtors, according to Stew Gibbons, executive vice president of Hughes Corp. "We are acutely aware of the significant contribution Las Vegas Realtors make to Summerlin's success," Gibbons said. "With this awareness, we go to great lengths to show our appreciation and provide continued incentives." Hosted by Vicky Petsch, Realtor relations manager for Hughes Corp., the trip included a boat ride to and from Catalina Island, shopping, snorkeling, sightseeing, and dinner. Situated along the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley, Summerlin is comprised of villages, each with a major park or golf course. The community is home to two Tournament Players Club golf courses, a Jack Nicklaus-designed Bear's Best golf course and five others. Houses, townhomes and condominiums are priced from under $100,000 to more than $700,000. Custom lots measuring from one-quarter acre to three-quarters of an acre are priced from the mid-$100,000s to more than $1 million, and prices of the predesigned custom homes range from $500,000 to more than $1 million. Apartments offer monthly rents starting from the $700s. To visit the community's home finding center, travel west on Sahara Avenue, past Hualapai Way, to Town Center Drive, or take Interstate 215 to Sahara. The office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
