Family moves up to Aliante

When Guy and Shannon Floyd were ready to move up to a larger home, they considered many neighborhoods throughout the Las Vegas Valley. After searching for about a year, they found their ideal home in the Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas.

"As we looked at new homes, we became partial to KB Home for the style of their floor plans and the overall value," Guy Floyd said. "We were pleased to find that KB was building in this community and when we looked at the floor plans for San Destin Palazzo, we found our perfect home. It's a wonderful design that provides the space we need to live comfortably right now and to grow as a family."

The Floyds, parents of 1-year-old daughter Savannah, said the community's design was a major factor in their decision to buy a home there.

"We like the concept of master-planned living and Aliante has it all," Guy Floyd said. "The golf course, walking trails, Nature Discovery Park, water features and other amenities provide recreational opportunities for people of all ages. We also appreciate the consistency in quality you find in a master-planned community like Aliante. We know this is going to be a great place to live and to raise a family."

Shannon Floyd shares his enthusiasm.

"From the first time we drove into this community, we could see that the lifestyle would be something far beyond what you get when you buy in a typical neighborhood," she said. "In fact, we were so impressed, we bought our home based on viewing the plans, long before the models were completed. Since that time, we have watched Aliante develop and we have become even more enthusiastic about all it has to offer a family like ours."

Aliante is a development of North Valley Enterprises, a joint venture of American Nevada Co. and Del Webb Corp. Encompassing 1,905 acres, it consists of primary and age-qualified villages.

About 428 acres is designated for recreational and public purposes including an 18-hole municipal golf course; three city parks; more than 20 miles of trails and linear parks; and an arroyo. Other features include picnic areas; an amphitheater; volleyball stadium; and bocce, soccer and tennis courts.

Sites have been earmarked for elementary and middle schools, and a fire station. About 100 acres have been allocated for commercial development, including a casino.

Builders in the primary village are D.R. Horton, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes. In the age-qualified village, Del Webb is building Sun City Aliante.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Turn right at Frontage Road, then left onto Interstate 215. Exit at Aliante Parkway and go south to the primary village or north to Sun City. The sales center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
