Sun City Aliante's location a plus for buyer
After living on both the East and West coasts, Lyn Conant decided Sun City Aliante, the age-qualified component of the Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas, was the perfect place to retire. Conant moved to Las Vegas from Chewelah, Wash., which is located about 50 miles from Spokane. "It is a beautiful country setting, but the winters are hard and it was too large and secluded for me after my husband passed away three years ago," she said. "He was a full colonel in the Air Force, so Sun City Aliante's location near Nellis (Air Force Base) is a plus." The couple met in Washington, D.C. Conant, who at one time worked for the National Science Foundation, participates in the Retired Officers Wives Club and attends a weekly Bible class on base. "I am familiar with the Del Webb product because we owned a home in Sun City in Phoenix at one time. I appreciate a builder that does things in a reputable manner. I have complete faith in Del Webb," she said. Conant heard about the community from an acquaintance who is also purchasing a home there. "I was renting in Las Vegas, and (my friend) told me about Aliante," she said. "I love the location of my new home." Conant is looking forward to participating in resident activities, including using the community's walking trails. "I'm very excited about the covered pool planned for Aliante. I'm already looking forward to water aerobics. I know Sun City Aliante is a very social environment, so I think it's perfect for me," she said. Conant selected the Heather model, a 1,155-square-foot home with two bedrooms, two baths, a great room and covered rear patio. "I like the enclosed garage for my car, and the Heather has a lovely kitchen," she said. Three collections with seven floor plans are available, and measure from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet. The residences are priced from the low $160,000s to the mid-$240,000s. The community is being developed around an 18-hole, 6,900-yard, par-72 municipal golf course. Additional amenities will include a recreation center with tennis and bocce courts, a fitness center, and club and hobby rooms. To visit Sun City Aliante, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Turn right at Frontage Road, then left onto Interstate 215. Exit at Aliante Parkway and go north. The sales office and models are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
