Dove Canyon buyer knows value inside out



When native Nevadan Cynthia Hottel moved into her new home at Dove Canyon, it was a dramatic change in lifestyle.

"I was used to a little townhouse near Flamingo (Road) and Buffalo (Drive)," Hottel said. "Now I have this large, 1,623-square-foot home with plenty of space to roam around. This was a fantastic change."

She also was pleased by the change of location to the North Las Vegas neighborhood by The Developers of Nevada.

"When I come home to Dove Canyon, I truly feel like I am leaving the city to enjoy life in the suburbs," Hottel said. "This is a very quiet community, and because all of the homes are located on cul-de-sacs you don't have the noise from cross traffic constantly traveling in front of your house. The fact that Dove Canyon is gated also makes me feel more secure."

Hottel, an accountant for The Developers of Nevada, believes her company provides a good value with its homes.

She selected the 1,623-square-foot Ponderosa model.

"I love the Ponderosa model because it is big enough for my lifestyle and gives me an opportunity to showcase my taste for Zen art, as well as my personality," Hottel said.

The neighborhood features six one- and two-story homes starting from the low $110,000s.

The Bryce model features two bedrooms and two baths in 1,126 square feet.

The Sequoia, another single-story home, comes with three bedrooms and two baths in 1,412 square feet. It offers several options, including a great room, retreat and den.

Three two-story homes offer three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. The Ponderosa model measures 1,623 square feet with an optional loft, the Spring home provides 1,754 square feet, and the Kyle design measures 1,783 square feet.

The 2,011-square-foot Stillwater residence features four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a two-car garage, and optional lofts and bonus rooms.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Craig Road, head east to Decatur Boulevard and turn north. Go past Lone Mountain Road and follow the signs. Sales office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
