Amstar applauded for Energy Star affiliation

Amstar Home's Maravilla neighborhood received positive reviews from its home buyers for its low energy costs, according to the builder.

Maravilla's residences are Energy Star homes, designed and built to reduce energy consumption.

"My Energy Star certified home has many energy-efficient features and the bill is less than most comparable homes," Marcia Rose, a neighborhood resident, said. "My power bill was previously between $200 and $300 per month. Now, it's only $70 per month."

Nevada Energy Star Partners is a voluntary coalition of Southern Nevada home builders, developers, retailers, finance companies, energy consultants and utility companies that promote energy conservation. Energy Star was created in 1992 by the Environmental Protection Agency.
