KB Home joins Girls Day event
KB Home's "Happy Home" visited the Boys and Girls Club recently for the 18th annual Girls Day event. The 6-foot-tall mascot greeted nearly 200 girls from clubs across the valley, who were paired with volunteers to participate in events ranging from egg races and beanbag tosses to soccer and hula hoop races. "The goal of Girls Day is twofold," said Angela Quinn, president of the Boys and Girls Clubs in Las Vegas. "First, we give the community a snapshot of what we're really about. When volunteers actually meet the kids, they see that their club is generally the single-most important thing in their lives. "And it introduces the girls to women who are successful in all areas of life," she said. Happy Home has represented the builder at community events since 1999. Girls Day is one of two major citywide events the Boys and Girls Clubs hold annually. Boys Night Out is planned for mid-September. KB Home participates with other community organizations, such as the Henderson Allied Community Advocates, which aims to prevent homelessness by providing self-sufficiency services in the Henderson area. One-stop shopping is offered at the 22,000-square-foot KB Home Studio, located just south of Warm Springs Road at 7440 S. Industrial Road, Suite 201. Its Homebuyers Club offers potential clients free assistance including credit reports, a review of their financial situation and credit counseling.
