Summerlin presents the Bard with `Romeo and Juliet'
The Nevada Theatre Co. will bring Shakespeare to Summerlin this month with a three-night run of "Romeo and Juliet." The modern version of the classic tragedy takes place at 8 p.m. on June 20-22 in The Gardens Park near Town Center Drive and Desert Inn Road. Also, an Elizabethan display of song, dance, juggling and puppetry will take place before the play, and it features area students and Summerlin residents as performers. "Thanks to Nevada Theatre Company, we are pleased to be able to bring Shakespeare to Summerlin," said Tom Warden, a spokesperson for the community. "The Gardens Park is an ideal setting for productions such as this, and we are looking forward to seeing Romeo and Juliet unfold under a beautiful summer evening sky." Tickets for open lawn seating are $7 for Summerlin residents and $10 for the general public. For more information, call The Gardens Community Center at 562-4890.
