Street of Dreams home available for purchase

Dragon's Oasis, one of four homes featured in the 2002 Street of Dreams housing tour, is available for purchase through MacDonald Highlands Realty. It is priced at $3.75 million.

Hi Con Inc. built the three-story, five-bedroom home measuring 8,251 square feet with a 30-foot-high entry, see-through elevator, waterfalls, a swim-up bar and fire pit.

All of the show homes are built into the hillsides, and feature city and mountain views.

"Our goal was to design a home that belonged to its site; a home that was a part of the hill rather that simply on a hill," said Greg Gevorkian, owner of Hi Con Inc. "And, we wanted to have enough room inside for one to live comfortably and thoroughly enjoy all aspects of the house."

The home's glass walls extend the living room, family room, kitchen and master suite to the outdoors, while the kitchen features Italian cherry wood cabinets with glass panes, and a built-in cappuccino maker.

Gevorkian's wife and business partner Annie, who designed the home's interior, selected materials that continued with the theme of making the home part of the mountain. She incorporated Black Absolute granite counter tops, exterior paint that matches the surrounding soil, and extensive stonework that coordinates with the natural environment.

Also featured is a theater fitted with a high-performance audio, video and automation system valued at more than $200,000.

The back yard patio is built into the hillside and features a barbecue and fireplace.

MacDonald Highlands is a 1,200-acre, custom-home community in Henderson. At buildout, it will feature 17 neighborhoods. Eight neighborhoods are under development on home sites that provide city and mountain views, as well as overlook the community's DragonRidge Golf and Country Club. Lots in these neighborhoods are priced from $179,000 to more than $2 million.

Semicustom homes are available in Stonehaven, a Toll Bros. neighborhood.

Construction is expected to begin soon on the permanent golf clubhouse. It will feature a pro shop, exercise facility, swimming pool, and dining. Meanwhile, a temporary clubhouse is open and tee times are available.

MacDonald Highlands' plans include three parks, which among them will feature tennis, basketball and volleyball courts; play areas; and picnic facilities. Five miles of fitness trails are also planned.

The information office is at 1700 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Suite 100. To visit, take Interstate 215 to Valle Verde Drive then head south to Horizon Ridge Parkway. Office hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
