Senator speaks of Pardee's 50th anniversary

Sen. Harry Reid spoke recently of Pardee Homes' 50th anniversary of building in Southern Nevada.

Among his comments were the following:

"It is really impressive that Pardee has been in business in Southern Nevada for half a century. Pardee first started building in Las Vegas ... when Truman was president and the Strip was a baby. That was the same year the Sahara and the Sands hotels opened.

"The Sands is gone, but Pardee is still here and thriving, putting its stamp on our city's architecture. Pardee has done a great job providing quality homes for families. I hope they keep up the good work for the next 50."

Pardee has built homes for 25,000 families in Southern Nevada.

The company is developing the communities of Rancho Las Palmas, Eldorado, Nevada Trails, and Shadow Mountain Ranch, in addition to the neighborhoods of Big Sky Ranches, Fiesta and Ren- aissance.
