Buyer impressed by Richmond American

Steve Watts said he did not think twice when the time came for him to choose a home builder. He headed to Richmond American Home's new Sierra Valley neighborhood in the southwestern valley.

"I chose to buy a Richmond home because of the good quality name and great pricing," Watts said, pointing out that the neighborhood was ideally located for his needs. "It is near my work, but more importantly I will be living closer to my family, which is great for my son Destin."

Of the five two-story floor plans available, Watts chose the 1,638-square-foot Windam design. It is the largest plan offered at the neighborhood, and is priced from the $300,000s. The interior features three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths, as well as a living room, dining room, and a loft, which can be converted to a fourth bedroom.

All of the homes allow buyers to choose an exterior color scheme, and include a one-car garage.

The Hampton plan measures 1,443 square feet and is priced from the $260,000s. It contains two bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a loft, living room and kitchen nook.

Also priced from the $260,000s is the 1,415-square-foot Pembroke model. Features include three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a living room, as well as a kitchen with a nook, pantry and built-in desk. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet plus a bath with a vanity with dual cultured-marble sinks, and an enclosed toilet.

At 1,195 square feet, the Amherst design offers dual master bedrooms, both of which are upstairs. Additional features include 2 1/2 baths, a kitchen nook and an upstairs laundry room. An area at the top of the stairs can be used as a tech center. The home is priced from the $220,000s.

The Concord design provides two bedrooms, a den and 2 1/2 baths in 1,384 square feet. A family room and kitchen nook are also included. It is priced from the $240,000s.

To visit, take Interstate 215 to Jones Boulevard, head south to Eldorado Lane then go west.

Richmond American Homes is developing more than 30 neighborhoods in the Las Vegas Valley. All of the builder's sales offices and model homes are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday and Friday, when they open at noon.
