Villa Vista showcased at Street of Dreams
The Villa Vista, a $4.5 million, European-style home built by Sunwood Inc. Luxury Home Developers, is one of four custom homes showcased at the Street of Dreams luxury-home and lifestyle event under way through June 20 at MacDonald Highlands in Henderson. Designed by Richard Luke Architects, the home measures 8,875 square feet. It features an iron door, Italian bedroom windows, an island kitchen and stone flooring. "This is a trend that's expected to grow in our desert, as such flooring is not only more durable and elegant, but much cooler," Moshe Baradon, a representative of the builder, said. ZINAZ Inc. designed the interior, which includes wood furnishings; an elevator; a 26-foot ceiling; a formal living room with two custom-made seamless windows that extend nearly from floor to ceiling; and a theater. Poggemeyer Design Group created the surrounding landscape, which includes a fountain courtyard entry. The back yard contains a Roman-style pool and a spa that has underwater seats facing a sunken wet bar. Homes at the event measure from 5,400 to 9,500 square feet, and are priced as high as $5.9 million. They offer views of the city, mountains and DragonRidge Country Club. Other participating builders are Christopher Homes, Merlin Contracting and Development, and Sun West Custom Homes. The show homes are open Tuesday through Sunday. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with ticket sales stopping at 6 p.m. On Thursday, ticket sales continue until 8 p.m. and the homes remain open until 9 p.m. Adult admission is $12 on weekends and $10 on weekdays. Guests age 65 and older and children age 4 to 12 receive a $2 discount on admission. Children age 3 and younger are admitted free. To visit, take Interstate 215 to Valle Verde Drive, go south to Horizon Ridge Parkway then follow the signs to the parking area. From there, take the free shuttle to the homes.
