Manhattan's blueprint includes `Central Park'

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Las Vegas will soon be home to Central Park if Gemstone Development co-founders Alex Edelstein and Philippe Pageau-Goyette have their way. This park will be part of the Manhattan high-rise condominium complex planned for the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Serene Avenue.

Units ranging from 900 to 1,800 square feet are available, and feature one to three bedrooms. Penthouse units also are available and measure 1,400 square feet.

"We are committed to creating stylish, tasteful and unique housing options that cater to the increasing sophistication of Las Vegas residents," Edelstein said. "Our focus on rich amenities, low maintenance and vibrant communities offers a distinctly different feel from typical Las Vegas residential construction."

Prices at the development start from $149,000 to more than $400,000.

Each unit includes granite counter tops, natural wood cabinets and walk-in closets. Buyers in the pre-construction phase have the opportunity to customize their residences.

Residents receive membership to the Manhattan Club, a private facility with a lounge, swimming pool and screening room in addition to a business center, health and fitness equipment, sauna and steam rooms, and an aerobics studio. Outside will be a basketball court, as well as a lighted swimming pool, spa and tennis courts for nighttime use.

Wireless Internet access will also be provided.

"Providing efficient Internet access fits our urban vision of making it easier for residents to manage their time," Pageau-Goyette said. "Whether sitting on the grass in Central Park or hanging out by the pool, residents will be able to use the Internet."
