Energy Star partners promote conservation

Now in its fourth year, Nevada Energy Star Partners is a 35-member voluntary coalition of companies promoting energy conservation through energy-efficient homes.

Home builders, retailers and mortgage companies are among those encouraging use of the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star energy-conservation and environmental awareness program.

Homes meeting Energy Star requirements are at least 30 percent more energy efficient than those built to standard code.

"Energy costs are among home buyers' top concerns when purchasing a home. By building Energy Star-rated homes and offering our customers additional savings with our Energy Star-Plus upgrade option, we can ease those concerns and ultimately save our customers money," said sales executive Dana Rogers of Ryland Homes.

Warmington Homes sales executive Amy Thill said participating in the coalition is part of the builder's commitment to satisfying customers.

"We continuously strive to meet our customers' needs and have recognized the growing number of energy-conscious home buyers."

Patrick Ward, a sales executive with Bramble Homes Inc., noted how joining the partnership and conserving energy "is essential to the continuous growth and success of the Las Vegas Valley."

Energy Star incorporates all products that conserve energy and help protect the environment, including appliances, lighting, windows, homes and mortgages.
