Corte Madera buyer purchases home in familiar neighborhood

Edward Bowman dreamed of the day he could finally walk into a home of his own. However, developments were asking the Las Vegas native for a substantial down payment to own a home in the area he grew up.

"I grew up in the area of Washington Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard and even went to Las Vegas High," Bowman said. "I didn't want to leave the area I have called home for so many years. However, I really couldn't qualify for a new home with all of the high down payments."

That's why he was excited to find Perennial Homes' Corte Madera in North Las Vegas, where a qualified buyer could buy a townhome for $1,000 out of pocket.

"I was amazed at all of the value I was actually able to get for my money at Corte Madera," Bowman said.

Bowman selected the 1,226-square-foot Mesa Verde floor plan with three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. The plan is priced from $105,990.

"I loved the setup of the home and the two-car garage," he said. "Also the fact that Corte Madera provides a complete ... appliance package at no extra charge was a definite added benefit."

The development also offers the Sedona residence, a two-story, 1,230-square-foot townhome with three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and an attached one-car garage. The home starts at $98,990.

Each home comes with a refrigerator, washer and dryer, window coverings, a security system, and garage door opener.

The development features landscaped areas, a swimming pool and recreation center.

To visit, take Rancho Drive to Lake Mead Boulevard, then go east to Simmons Street. Drive south to Coran Lane and follow the signs. The sales center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
