Special viewing of MacDonald Highlands' custom homes set for today
MacDonald Highlands in Henderson will open its gates today for a special viewing of six custom homes from 1 to 4 p.m.. "Ordinarily these custom homes would be seen by appointment only. Our open house will be a great opportunity for those seeking a luxury home in the $1 million to $4 million price range to view the selection of custom homes presently available at MacDonald Highlands," Rich MacDonald, president of the MacDonald Cos., said. Three of the homes are built into the hillsides providing city views, including two that were featured in this year's Street of Dreams event. Three are located adjacent to the private DragonRidge Country Club offering views of the sixth hole and its water feature. "Dragon's Oasis" is three stories with a glass elevator and five bedrooms. The 8,251-square-foot home is carved into a mountain and features handcrafted cabinets, theater room, wine cellar, a library, and disappearing glass walls. The landscape is highlighted by waterfalls in front and back, and an infinity-edged pool with swim-up bar and a fire pit. The home is priced at $3.75 million. "Earth, Wind and Fire" measures 5,408 square feet. The four-bedroom home's entry is accented by a waterfall and moat. Through a disappearing wall, a 12-foot waterfall spills from a spa in a lower pool. Highlights include a home theater, office, and wine cellar with cigar room. The home is priced at $1.995 million. "Desert Embrace" is a four-bedroom, two-story hillside home that measures 5,274 square feet. The main level offers a sunken great room framed by columns. The home also has a second great room and media room with built-in cabinets. It is priced at $1.4 million. "L'ambiance," highlighted by stone floors with inlaid designs, measures 5,174 square feet and has four bedrooms. The home features a downstairs master suite with butted glass windows, while the backyard pool and spa face the golf course. It is priced at $1.99 million. "Grandezza," featuring a porte-cochere entry, measures 5,514 square feet. The five-bedroom home's staircase leads to two wings, one with a master suite with views of the golf course. The back yard is accented with a pool and spa. It is priced at $2.195 million. "Bella Vista," measuring 5,639 square feet, has four bedrooms and an upstairs theater. The living room, dining room and bar areas have views of the backyard pool and the community's country club. The master suite has a retreat, which could be used as an office or gym. This home is priced at $2.135 million. Upon completion, the 1,200-acre hillside MacDonald Highlands community will feature 17 neighborhoods. Currently, there are eight neighborhoods under development with custom-home sites priced from $179,000 to more than $2 million. To visit the community's information office at 1700 W.
