Anthem Highlands' location proves ideal for home buyers
Location was the deciding factor for Michele and Robert Desio in their purchase of a home at Pulte Homes' Anthem Highlands community in Henderson. "We really like the area; we bought a fantastic home site in a quiet neighborhood, plus Pulte Homes has a great reputation for building good houses," Michele Desio said. The Desios, who moved to Las Vegas from Chicago seven years ago, purchased a 1671 plan from the Buchanan Collection of single-story homes. "We were living in a 2,000-square-foot, two-story home, but it was too big for just the two of us. Our new home has a nice, open floor plan and seems bigger than it actually is. It's met all of our needs," she said. The design features three bedrooms, or two bedrooms and a den, as well as two baths and a two-car garage. It has 9-foot ceilings and an optional bay window in the master suite. The home is priced from the $450,000s. Three other floor plans measure from 1,580 to 1,729 square feet and are priced from the $440,000s. Four additional collections are available, and offer single- and two-story homes. They range from 1,629 to 3,483 square feet, and are priced from the $460,000s to the $670,000s. All of the homes within the community incorporate the Platinum Plus level of the Environments For Living building technology. They exceed the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star requirements and offer a three-year heating and cooling energy-use and comfort guarantee. Select communities offer 2X6 construction around living spaces. Upon completion, the 400-acre community will have about 1,500 homes. The Revere at Anthem Golf Club within the community offers two 18-hole championship courses. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, turn left on Anthem Parkway and follow the signs. The sales office and models are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at noon. The Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-based builder operates in more than 40 markets nationwide. The company is constructing 22 new-home subdivisions in the valley, including Amber Ridge at Mission Hills in Henderson; Silverstone Ranch and Wyeth Ranch in northwest Las Vegas; Serenata, Treviso, Pavona and Salerno in North Las Vegas; and Paradiso, Miramonte, Escala, Palomar and Cordova in Summerlin. The company's Del Webb brand is a leading builder of age-qualified communities. It also operates a mortgage division.
