Sterling Court home buyers grateful for `easy' transaction

Because Raul and Ana Gonzalez had always felt that purchasing a home was a complicated process, they decided to put off buying one for a long time. After their recent purchase of a Richmond American home at Sterling Court in the southwestern valley, they have a new outlook.

"Richmond has made it really, really easy for us to buy a home," Ana Gonzalez said. "In fact, the whole process has been so easy, all we've had to do is wait for our home to be finished so we can move in."

The couple said the builder's customer service made all the difference.

"We had heard stories from friends and relatives who bought homes from other builders, so we were very worried about what we would run into," Ana Gonzalez said. "But now we know that choosing the right home builder is what makes the difference, and we couldn't be happier with our choice."

After spending a year and a half looking at new and resale homes throughout the valley, the Gonzalezes were unsure if they would ever find the right home for their family, which includes their 3-year old son, Marcus. That changed when they visited Sterling Court.

The Gonzalezes chose the Winter floor plan: a three-bedroom, two-bath home measuring 1,485 square feet. This two-story design includes a great room, dining area and kitchen nook.

"The moment Raul walked in the door, he said `this is it,'" Ana Gonzalez said. "Up until then, all the other homes we had looked at had been OK, but this was different. What we both liked best about the Winter is the floor plan, and how the rooms are separated and defined but without feeling closed in. Then we found a great cul-de-sac lot, so we signed our contract to buy this home the same day we first saw it."

Homes in the neighborhood are arranged in a "courtyard design."

All of the designs are two-story with three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.

Prices start in the $160,000s.

They include the 1,357-square-foot Spring, the 1,418-square-foot Summer and the 1,645-square-foot Fall. The latter two plans offer optional fourth bedrooms. The Fall also offers a bonus room.

To visit, take Interstate 215 to Jones Boulevard and go south, past Robindale Road, following the signs.

Hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday and Friday, when models open at noon.
