Sun City Aliante's lifestyle attracts duo
Jim and Jane Lange sold their lawn mower and snow blower and moved to Sun City Aliante, an age-qualified community by Del Webb located within the Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas. "I don't miss them," said Jim Lange, a former manager at a sporting goods store in Rapid City, S.D. "I'm happy with the prospect of a desert-landscaped yard." Each home includes front and rear landscaping. "Del Webb homes are energy conscious in every way, and we provide water-smart landscaping, as well as cocoon insulation and low-e windows," sales manager Lorraine Roberts said. The homes exceed the Energy Star program requirements, which promote tighter construction, and high-efficiency heating and cooling equipment. "We appreciate the energy-conservation measures," Jim Lange said. "In addition, we wanted an active-adult community ... Coming in to a new town you don't know anyone, so the social aspects are very appealing. ... The availability of the golf course and tennis courts was a major consideration." The Langes' home is close to the community's 18-hole municipal golf course. Other amenities include a recreation center, swimming pool, fitness center, and hobby rooms. Sun City offers seven designs priced from the mid-$160,000s to the mid-$250,000s. The Langes purchased the Laurel model, a 1,576-square-foot home with two bedrooms, two baths, a den and great room. "I liked it from the minute I walked in the front door," Jane Lange said. "This home is inviting, like a large, warm welcome." To view the models, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Turn right at Frontage Road, then turn left onto Interstate 215. Exit at Aliante Parkway and go north. Sales office hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
