Cloud Carpets rates safety first
Roy Shelton, owner of Cloud Carpets in Las Vegas, has geared up his area stores to meet the demand for safety flooring to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. "We are prepared to meet the standards that day-care centers, assisted living facilities, hospitals and learning institutions demand. We have all the required flooring products that are aesthetically pleasing, functional and, most importantly, safe," Shelton said. Shelton said several manufacturers and niche suppliers are introducing items such as stair treads, raised rubber flooring, or illuminated tiles. Also, commercial and residential product specifiers are looking beyond flooring and into areas such as stairways to help resolve safety issues. Cloud Carpets has been in Las Vegas since 1962, and has four locations in Southern Nevada. Their 50,000-square-foot flagship store is located on Industrial Road near Tropicana Avenue, and contains the Cloud 9 Gallery with a design center featuring floor tile, wall tile and bath flooring. The store recently added hot tubs with the exclusive Dimension One Spas line, and will be offering pools in the future. Cloud's design center offers home buyers methods to coordinate entry, kitchen and bath, and other hard flooring needs with soft floor coverings, including custom-dyed or woven carpets and Oriental or other exotic carpets. Cloud also has stores at 800 N. Rainbow Blvd. in the northwest, at 334 Water St. in Henderson and another in Mesquite.
