Custom homes ready at MacDonald Highlands

The 2002 Street of Dreams show at MacDonald Highlands brought nearly 50,000 visitors to the Henderson community, according to Rich MacDonald, president of MacDonald Cos.

"We've really noticed a strong increase in the number of luxury-home shoppers who have visited our community since the ... event. It's as though our best kept secret has finally gotten out."

Among the attractions have been several custom homes that are available for purchase through MacDonald Highlands Realty.

"The collection of homes we currently have available are exceptional, and include two homes -- Dragon's Oasis and Earth, Wind & Fire -- from the Street of Dreams event," MacDonald said.

Dragon's Oasis measures 8,251 square feet and is priced at $3.75 million, while Earth, Wind & Fire measures 5,408 square feet and is priced at $1.995 million.

Also available is Serenity Point, a three-quarter acre hillside home measuring 6,560 square feet and priced at $2.3 million.

Potential buyers may also consider three estate homes that overlook the sixth hole at DragonRidge Golf Club. The L'ambiance, Grandézza and Bella Vista measure from 5,100 to 5,500 square feet and are priced from $1.999 million to $2.195 million.

MacDonald Highlands will feature 17 neighborhoods on 1,200 acres at buildout. There are eight custom-home neighborhoods under development with home sites that provide city and mountain views, as well as views of the golf course. Custom lots in these neighborhoods are priced from $179,000 to more than $2 million.

The golf course is the central amenity at MacDonald Highlands, and incorporates the natural surroundings.

Construction is expected to start soon on the DragonRidge clubhouse, which will feature a pro shop, swimming pool, an exercise facility, upscale dining room, and a separate mixed grill and lounge. A temporary clubhouse is open and tee times are available.

The master plan also includes three community parks encompassing about 10 acres. Amenities will include tennis, basketball and volleyball courts; play areas; and picnic facilities. Five miles of fitness trails are also planned.

The information office is located at 1700 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Suite 100. To visit, take Interstate 215 to Valle Verde Drive and head south to Horizon Ridge Parkway. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
