Vacation-home buyers drawn to Turnberry Place

The majority of buyers at Turnberry Place are seeking the lifestyle offered at a resort-style community, according to John Riordan, vice president of sales at the high-rise residential development.
"Many visitors to Turnberry Place have not looked at residences anywhere else in town," Riordan said. "They are looking for the convenience of living in a luxury community close to shopping and dining."
The development is being built by Turnberry Associates on Paradise Road, north of Desert Inn Road.
Riordan said that 135 condominium homes in the first tower have been sold, and estimates that as many as one-third of the buyers will make the development their primary residence.
Four 38-story towers are planned for the development which, when complete, will comprise 740 homes.
"The typical buyer at Turnberry Place is a 50-year-old affluent person or couple looking for all the amenities that a five-star hotel would offer," Riordan said.
"We have applied resort-style amenities such as spa treatments, fine dining, valet, porter and limousine service, to our community lifestyle," he said.
Ten floor plans are available, ranging from 1,550 to 11,000 square feet. Prices start from $355,000 to more than $5 million.
Development plans include a 60,000-square-foot private club with a 30,000-square-foot European-style spa, a fitness center, a lounge with a piano bar, casual and formal dining, a billiard room, card rooms, private dining and function rooms, room service, 24-hour concierge, tennis courts, a business center, library, beauty salon and spas.
Additionally, there will be an indoor lap pool, an outdoor pool with cabanas and a pool bar, and a convenience store.
Other amenities include 24-hour security and valet service, a gated entry, and two levels of underground parking.
The 12,000-square-foot sales office features a model home. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
