OUTDOOR MOVIE PRESENTATION: Jurassic parksSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
The Aliante master-planned community will host a free outdoor presentation of "Jurassic Park" Friday from 7 to 10 p.m. at Nature Discovery Park, a dinosaur-themed park in North Las Vegas. The presentation is part of the city Parks and Recreation Department's Movie Madness Series. Originally released in 1993, "Jurassic Park" is a story about scientists who clone dinosaurs to populate a theme park. The park suffers a major security breakdown and the dinosaurs are released. The event is open to the public and free refreshments will be distributed, while supplies last. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and lawn chairs. "This is our first outdoor movie event at Aliante and we thought `Jurassic Park' ... would harmonize with all of the dinosaur-themed areas of Nature Discovery Park," said Kimiko Peterson, community marketing manager. "It will be a perfect evening to come out to Aliante, enjoy all the park has to offer and take in a movie under the stars." Aliante is a development of North Valley Enterprises, an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Del Webb. It encompasses more than 1,900 acres, including an all-ages village and an age-qualified village. Combined, they will comprise about 7,500 homes at buildout. Prices start from the low $200,000s to the $700,000s. Builders include Astoria Homes, Del Webb, D.R. Horton, KB Home, Pardee Homes, Perma-Bilt Homes, Pulte Homes and US Home. Del Webb is the sole developer of the age-qualified village, Sun City Aliante. Nearly one-quarter of the acreage of the community is designated for recreational and public purposes, including Aliante Golf Club, Nature Discovery Park and two additional city parks that are planned, more than 20 miles of trails and linear parks, an arroyo and three schools. A fire station opened in April. About 100 acres of the community are allocated for commercial development, including shopping, dining and professional services, as well as a planned 40-acre resort with gaming. Information regarding new homes and neighborhoods can be obtained at the Aliante Information Gallery. To visit gallery or the park, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Head east on the Interstate 215 to Aliante Parkway and go south. Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
