Health and fitness buffs enjoy Sun City Anthem
Steve and Irene Janicki are native New Yorkers, born and raised in the town of Binghamton. But they recently settled in at Del Webb's Sun City Anthem in Henderson, finding the age-qualified community ideal for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. "I take lots of classes at Sun City Anthem," Irene Janicki said. "Tai chi, yoga, walking, you name it. The running track is just wonderful and the fitness center and swimming pools make for a great workout." Irene Janicki, a former owner of a women's fitness club, praised the 75,000-square-foot Anthem Center, which offers fitness, social and recreational opportunities, as well as Trumpets Restaurant and Lounge, which is open to the public. "The instructors are great," she said. "They are concerned and helpful. One exceptional aspect is the wellness program in cooperation with St. Rose Dominican Hospital that creates an exercise program designed specifically for you." The couple moved into the Colonial model, attracted to the kitchen and its amenities. "Our home was complete with landscaping and appliances, which made moving in very easy and convenient," Janicki said. The community also features special interest clubs, including the computer club, which Steve Janicki joined. "...We visited and stayed in the Del Webb vacation cottages for a week before buying our home in Anthem," he said. Sun City Anthem offers 17 models, ranging from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet and more through the Gold Key program. Homes are priced from $137,750 to more than $500,000. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway. Models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
