Custom-home sites nestled into foothills of Summerlin

Custom-home sites are available in three neighborhoods at The Ridges village in the Summerlin master-planned community.

Promontory, Arrowhead and Rimrock are part of the village located where Desert Inn Road meets the foothills of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in the western valley and surrounding the Bear's Best Las Vegas golf course, featuring holes designed by Jack Nicklaus.

Promontory, The Ridges' first custom neighborhood, is nearing sellout with three remaining half-acre lots priced from $559,000 to $612,000.

Arrowhead has eight half-acre sites available adjacent to Bear's Best. They are priced from $483,000 to $669,000.

Its newest neighborhood, Rimrock, has three home sites available, priced from $550,000 to $830,000.

The village was conceived from a vision to create an elegant natural living environment, according to Larry Brocato, executive vice president of The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of Summerlin.

"The Ridges' ... desert foothill elevation offers expansive views of the entire valley, including the glittering Las Vegas Strip. Yet its adjacency to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area creates a quiet sanctuary for those wishing to escape the bustle of the city," Brocato said.

Access to the neighborhoods is provided by a landscaped parkway that is guard-gated.

Club Ridges, a private fitness center, and a 3-acre community park are planned and will offer recreational opportunities exclusively for residents.

"A drive through The Ridges reveals a growing collection of some of the valley's most spectacular and innovative custom homes that embrace the community's sophisticated desert-contemporary style. The competition is on amongst the who's who of Las Vegas to build the most spectacular and interesting homes that bring the outdoors in and take advantage of the area's natural beauty," Brocato said. "This understated, yet distinctive style is underscored by use of color, horizontal architecture and desert-contemporary landscaping designed to blend with the area's natural environment.

"Elevation, mountain and city views; a stunning high desert environment; sophisticated design guidelines and architecture; and world-class golf and fitness amenities come together in The Ridges to create an unparalleled living environment."

Summerlin has ranked as the nation's best-selling master-planned community 10 of the past 11 years, according to independent surveys. Predesigned custom homes in the community start at about $2.1 million.

To visit the custom-lot sales center, travel west on Desert Inn Road until it ends in The Ridges and turn left. The building is on the right. It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
