Energy Star benefits win over home buyer

The energy- and cost-saving benefits of an Energy Star home were critical issues to Connie Etherington, who recently purchased a two-story house in North Las Vegas.

"It was definitely a deciding factor when I was looking to buy a new home," Etherington said. "It will save me lots of money in the long run."

Etherington is director of operations for a pension fund and has lived in Las Vegas for 15 years. She has an 11-year-old son, Jeff, who is a Little League all-star.
