MacDonald Highlands to celebrate Fourth of July with private parade

MacDonald Highlands will hold its second annual Fourth of July celebration at the DragonRidge Country Club driving range. The event's hosts are Richard and Claire MacDonald.

Members, homeowners and their guests are welcome to the daylong event that will begin with a patriotic parade featuring golf carts, bicycles and family pets. The David Miller Band will provide entertainment all through the day until the private fireworks begin.

Food and beverage concession stands, tents and decorations will be set up along the driving range where families can gather to picnic and children can play with beach balls, glow sticks and bubbles.

The country club is the social hub of MacDonald Highlands, where special events are organized each month for homeowners and members.

The private 18-hole golf course includes a clubhouse with a gourmet dining room with a Strip view, two lounges, a ballroom, fitness center, swimming pool, children's pool, and a pro shop. A complimentary social membership is provided to lot owners upon application approval.

The development offers five custom-home neighborhoods, each with its own distinct topography and views. Home sites offer a variety of terrains including flat golf frontage, multilevel pads or hillside elevations with views of the golf course, mountains or city.

Custom lots range from a half-acre parcel to 3-acre parcels. Pricing is from $950,000 to $6 million.

An information center is located at 1730 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Suite 100. To visit, take the Las Vegas Beltway to Valle Verde Drive then go south to Horizon Ridge.
