Buyer opts for Stillwater home, starts new career

When Vivian Narssa and her husband, James, relocated from Redwood City, Calif., to Las Vegas, both had accepted positions in the gaming industry. Little did she realize that their search for a new home would lead her to a new job with U.S. Home.

During their home search, the Narssas were impressed by the single-story Brentwood model at the builder's Stillwater Canyon neighborhood in the southwestern valley.

While discussing upgrades and options with sales agent Sylvia Levy, Vivian Narssa mentioned she was an interior designer. Little did Narssa know that the builder was searching for a consultant for its design center. Company executive Vicki Zoot later contacted her about the position, which she accepted.

"Within the week, I started my career with U.S. Home. And construction started on our new U.S. Home in Stillwater Canyon," Vivian Narssa said. "For me it's the best of both worlds. I've found a home and a job that I love."

During the past few months, Narssa has helped home buyers with design selections as well as making design decisions for her expanded 3,000-square-foot Brentwood plan, which has a bonus room and four bedrooms.

"In fact, every time I thought we had finalized our choices, we'd think of something else new and exciting we wanted to add," she said.

The Narssas' home includes such options as 18-inch floor tiles, 42-inch kitchen cabinets with molding and glass doors, leaded-glass entry doors, a reverse osmosis water system and two-tone paint.

"Our home is the first Brentwood under construction in Stillwater Canyon, and it's become an unofficial model home. Sylvia sends new home buyers over to see our home in progress for design ideas," she said.

The home, priced from $232,990, measures 2,550 square feet and can be expanded to more than 3,000 square feet. The expanded plan features a covered patio and several design options, including as many as five bedrooms and three baths, a bonus room, and dual owner suites. Two of the bedrooms may also be combined to create a bonus room.

The home offers high ceilings, a covered entry, great room, an optional three-sided fireplace in the family room, and a dining nook.

The kitchen features double ovens, a pantry and optional built-in desk.

In the owner suite are a retreat; walk-in closet; and bath with a linen closet.

Nine floor plans, priced from the $200,000s, are offered at the neighborhood. The single- and two-story homes range from 2,567 to 4,200 square feet.

To visit, take Tropicana Avenue to Fort Apache Road, turn south and drive about half a mile. The models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Monday, when they open at 11 a.m.

The builder also offers several other neighborhoods, including Palazzo Monte, which is in presales in Seven Hills. Closeouts are under way at the Wellington Estates and Palm Hills neighborhoods.
