Home search winds up at Silver Pines
When Debi Kenney and Richard Gilmore decided to purchase their first home, they made an exhaustive search of the Las Vegas Valley before choosing Signature Homes' Silver Pines condominium complex. Priced from the mid-$90,000s, the gated complex is being built within The Arbors village in Summerlin. Three floor plans are offered, ranging from 997 to 1,282 square feet with two bedrooms and two baths. Each home comes with an enclosed courtyard or balcony. Select homes can be ready for occupancy within two weeks. "We toured a lot of resale condominiums with our agent, but everything seemed so old and looked like it would need to be redone," Kenney said. "Then on the weekends, we began ... looking for new homes on our own." They were drawn to the Silver Pines complex because it offered the Nehemiah program, which allows qualified applicants to purchase a home with no money down. "Once we stopped by the sales center and walked through the model homes, we knew our search was over. We chose the Spruce plan, which has an open design and approximately 1,200 square feet of living space," Kenney said. "We liked all of the plans at Silver Pines, but felt that the Spruce had a more formal feel to it, which appealed to us." Each home comes with a washer, dryer, refrigerator and vertical blinds. They also include 9-foot ceilings, niches, plant shelves, ceramic-tile kitchen counter tops, and prewiring for security systems and cable TV. The baths feature cultured-marble vanity tops and ceramic-tile shower and tub surrounds. "We both work close to Summerlin, so that was a primary consideration," Gilmore said. "But we also love the overall design of the Summerlin community. ..." The couple also was impressed by the complex's landscaping, pool and spa. "There is a beautiful waterfall at the entrance, outdoor picnic and barbecue areas, and all of the grounds are very well-maintained," Kenney said. To visit, take Summerlin Parkway to Town Center Drive, go south and proceed past Hualapai Way. Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
