Construction set to begin on Sun City Anthem clubhouse

Del Webb Corp. officials recently gathered for the "tee-off" groundbreaking of the 23,000-square-foot Revere Clubhouse at the Anthem Golf Club in Sun City Anthem.

The clubhouse, scheduled for completion in October, will feature a golf shop, three banquet rooms, a sports bar with gaming machines and a grill.

"Like the beautiful Anthem Center, people will be talking about the view from the clubhouse," special projects manager Gilbert Kyprianou said. "With floor-to-ceiling window paneling along the facility's north side, the clubhouse will offer spectacular views of the mountains, Las Vegas Strip and The Revere."

Designed by The Dahlin Group of San Ramon, Calif., the building will complement the Anthem master plan, including Anthem Center, the age-qualified community's recreation facility. Burke and Associates will serve as the general contractor with interior design by Ziv Davis of San Francisco.

"We're extremely enthusiastic about the golf shop," Clay Meininger, director of golf at the facility, said. "This was designed especially for the customer -- there won't just be one starter counter, but rather multiple locations where you can make purchases, set a tee-time and interact with golf professionals. We think people will appreciate the difference."

The clubhouse will be across the street from the practice field known as The Battlefield, which is a 13-acre, 330-yard facility that accommodates as many as 50 players at once.

The golf club features a 7,143-yard, par-72, 18-hole championship golf course. Special rates and tee times are offered for community and Clark County residents.

Sun City Anthem offers 15 models, ranging from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet and more through the community's Gold Key program. Homes are priced from the high $130,000s to more than $500,000.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway. The models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
