First American Title Co. names administrator


n First American Title Co. of Nevada has appointed Paula Baker to the post of state escrow administrator. Her duties include standardizing escrow policies and procedures and overseeing all escrow employees. Previously, Baker served as branch manager for First American Title, as well as escrow manager and vice president at Land Title of Nevada for nine years.

n New Home Concepts, a mall-based real estate company with locations in Phoenix and Las Vegas, has been purchased by Hometouch Centers of Chicago to create Hometouch. All eight mall locations in both cities carry the new logo, and 10 new offices are scheduled to open this year in the Chicago area.

n Lee and Associates' Chuck Witters represented American Family Mutual in its 52-month lease of 7,046 square feet at 3993 Howard Hughes Parkway from The Howard Hughes Corp., represented by Rick Myers, for $864,121. In another transaction, David Howes represented G and K Services in its five-year lease of 10,100 square feet at 2850 Synergy Ave. from Los Nevados, represented by Ron Hollis of Albright Callister, for $405,000. Scott Owens and Mel Koich represented both parties in the Las Vegas Industrial Park's five-year lease of 5,067 square feet at 6879 Speedway Blvd., Suite V-105, to Shopmasters Journal for $112,487. Owens and Koich again represented both parties in the Industrial Park's 51-month lease of 9,120 square feet at 7055 Speedway Blvd. to the Spencer Riding School for $193,709. Owens and Koich also represented both parties in the Industrial Park's two-year lease of 7,592 square feet at 6845 Speedway Blvd. to Paul Tracey/Jimmy Vaser for $64,684.

n Colliers International's Matt Bear represented Retail Center Partners in its five-year lease of 1,500 square feet at 1735 W. Craig Road, Suite 2, to Adecco Employment Services for $193,000. Dan J. Doherty and Xavier Wasiak represented Lomas Regency in its three-year lease of 5,200 square feet at 4995 Steptoe St., Suite 100, to Camp and Sons for $69,432. Doherty, Pat Marsh and David Frear represented both parties in Vegas Ventures' four-year lease of 1,418 square feet at 3945 W. Reno Ave., Unit G, to Clayton Personal Fitness for $50,821. Marsh and Doherty represented both parties in Patrick Partners' five-year lease of 6,200 square feet at 3065 E. Patrick Lane, Unit 4, to Sky's the Limit for $232,500. Marsh also represented Varian Medical Systems in its seven-year lease of 18,703 square feet at 6873 Spencer St. from Airport Plaza Associates for $1.5 million. In another transaction, Doherty and Todd Long represented EJM Development Co. in its purchase of 31.28 acres at the northwest corner of Cheyenne Avenue and Valley Drive from Howard Hughes Properties for $2.7 million.

n Pro Commercial Real Estate's Gary Burgher represented Larry Nelson in the purchase of a 5,780-square-foot office/warehouse building at 4800 University Ave. from Delano Holdings for $500,000.

n Marcus and Millichap's Richard Orosel represented both parties in 5 Star Properties' sale of Boca Park at Charleston and Rampart boulevards to Richard E. Thurmond for $3.2 million.

n Soozi Jones Walker of Realty Executives of Nevada represented Nigro Associates in its purchase of 2 acres at the corner of Eastern Avenue and Aura Drive in Henderson from Miland Trust, represented by Dan Tuntland of Tiberti Blood, for $1.4 million. Walker also represented both parties in Shadow Partners' 63-month lease of 1,096 square feet at 400 Shadow Lane to W. Phil Christensen for $113,382. In another transaction, Walker represented N and N Spring Mountain in its 63-month lease of 1,584 square feet at 5808 W. Spring Mountain Road, Suite 107, to Platinum Wireless, represented by Josi Petersen, for $112,248.

n Colliers International's Dan J. Doherty, Pat Marsh and Spencer Pinter represented EJM Development Co. in its five-year lease of 5,655 square feet at 3595 E. Patrick Lane, Suite 100, to Bruno's Distribution Co. for $112,270.
