Festivities mark opening of Iron Mountain Ranch

Festivities to celebrate the grand opening of KB Home's Iron Mountain Ranch community in the northwestern valley are wrapping up today.

Today's free event features a petting zoo, pony rides, barbecue, gift certificate drawings, and a big screen TV sweepstakes. A local country-western band is scheduled to perform from 1 to 4 p.m.

The community features three series of homes -- the Prairie, Frontier and Sierra -- priced from the $120,000s. Ten of the community's 17 one- and two-story floor plans are modeled, ranging from 1,245 to 3,633 square feet.

Representatives of the Homebuyers Club and Kaufman and Broad Mortgage Co. have offices on-site. The Homebuyers Club offers potential buyers free access to personal counselors who are trained to help guide them through the home-buying process.

"The Homebuyers Club is one of many services offered by KB Home that is geared towards making the home-buying experience a pleasant one," Leah Bryant, president of the builder's Las Vegas Division, said. "It is an ideal way for families, especially first-time home buyers, to purchase their dream home without the frustrations sometimes associated with the process."

To tour the model homes, take U.S. Highway 95 to Ann Road, head east to Jones Boulevard and travel north for about three miles. The sales office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Friday, when it opens at 11 a.m.

The builder also offers one-stop shopping at the KB Home Studio, a 22,000-square-foot design center at 7440 S. Industrial Road, Suite 201.
