Pardee offers service link

Pardee Homes' customer service computer link was created as a convenience for the company's home buyers, according to D.J. Forster, customer service manager.

"I think one reason Pardee has been one of Southern Nevada's top-ranked builders for 50 years now and retained the loyalty of so many buyers is that we always maintain a high level of customer service after our homes are built," Forster said. "That includes anything as simple as making small repairs or helping homeowners get the most out of technologically advanced appliances in a new home, such as the programmable thermostats which save energy and money.

"I love new technology and this new e-communication is just one tool we're using to keep doing the best job we possibly can. But ultimately, excellent customer service comes always down to having good people ... building relationships with our homeowners. We never lose track of that."

Barbara Pollex, a resident of Pardee's Verona neighborhood in Green Valley, agreed.

"I love the speed and convenience of contacting my customer service representative, Percy Edwards, online after business hours when things are quiet around here," Pollex said. "If I have a question or need a repair, Percy either takes care of it personally or finds the right person to help me within a day."

Verona resident Terri Hohl also had praise for Edwards.

"Within a day of sending an e-mail on a Sunday night, Percy came by and took care of my problem himself," Hohl said. "I've had nothing but good experiences."

Pardee was voted one of the top three builders in the Las Vegas Valley on the J.D. Power and Associates 2001 New Home Builder Customer Satisfaction Study, which analyzed buyer attitudes toward a builder's sales staff, design center, price and value, design, location, amenities, quality of workmanship and materials, and construction problem occurrence and resolution. Las Vegas was one of 10 major markets given close study.

"Since the company was founded more than 75 years ago, Pardee's focus has always been on quality, value and service," Klif Andrews, vice president of community development for Pardee, said. "We are happy that our home buyers give Pardee high marks for attaining those goals."

Pardee is celebrating its 50th year in Southern Nevada, where the company has built more than 25,000 homes and several master-planned communities since 1952.

Among the communities it has developed are Rancho Las Palmas, Eldorado and Nevada Trails.
