Las Ventanas sponsors life care seminars

Las Ventanas at Summerlin invites area senior citizens to learn more about the life care retirement lifestyle and community during a series of informational seminars.

"We recognize that the decision to move to a life care community is complex. The process can include such factors as financial ability, health care needs, recreational or social requirements as well as family attitudes," marketing director Suzanne Caldarello said. "The seminars are an opportunity for individuals and couples to explore the various facets of this distinctive retirement option and an excellent initial step in judging whether a life care community is a viable lifestyle choice."

The seminars will be held at the Tournament Players Club and Canyon Gate in Summerlin this Wednesday and on Feb. 7, 19 and 27. Reservations are required. To register, call 360-2662.

Las Ventanas is a retirement community that combines resort-style living with resident access to assisted living services and skilled nursing care. Its developers are Greystone Communities and Westport Senior Living.

The development, which will be built at the southeast corner of Town Center Drive and West Charleston Boulevard, will comprise 198 apartments in seven floor plans, 60 private assisted-living suites, and 60 private rooms for skilled nursing care.

Planned amenities include a swimming pool, lawn theater, performing arts center, dining room, several private dining rooms, library, cyber cafe, business center, and barber shop/beauty salon.

The information center, which includes a model of the community, is at 10000 W. Charleston Blvd. It is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and by appointment on weekends.
