Golf course impresses Sun City Aliante couple
Moving to Sun City Aliante from Huntington Beach, Calif., was a delightful change for Jack and Blanche Thobe. "We are delighted with Del Webb," Jack Thobe said. "Living around people our age in this golf course community has been dynamite. Our five children and eight grandchildren are still in Southern California, but when they come to visit us, one family at a time, it's truly quality time." The couple purchased the Cedar floor plan, a 1,716-square-foot home from the Cypress Collection. It has three bedrooms, two baths, a great room, dining room, nook and patio. The collection also offers the Laurel, a 1,576-square-foot design with two bedrooms, two baths, a den and great room. A detached casita and covered patio are optional. Also available are the Wildflower and Preserve collections, which offer five floor plans ranging from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet. Prices start from $236,800 to $338,600. Sun City Aliante is built around the 18-hole Aliante Golf Club, a public course. "I purchased a (sports card) there which allows me to book tee times ten days in advance. It gives me and my wife preferred rates, as well as the occasional free round of golf," Thobe said. "My wife and I have already golfed together three times on the course, and we are looking forward to many more rounds." Other amenities will include a recreation center with tennis and bocce courts, a swimming pool, fitness center, and club and hobby rooms. "The planned amenities give our home great value," Thobe said. "In fact, we've purchased a second home site, close to the golf course that will be ready in July, for investment purposes." Sun City Aliante is the age-qualified component of the Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Interstate 215, exit east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Proceed to Frontage Road and turn right, then turn left onto the interstate. Exit at Aliante Parkway and go north. The sales office and model village are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Del Webb, a subsidiary of Pulte Homes, is the leading builder of age-qualified communities.
