Anthem attracts newlyweds
Del Webb's Anthem Country Club in Henderson proved to be the ideal spot for realty agents Allison and Brian Anderson to begin their married life. "We looked through other guard-gated communities in the Las Vegas Valley for the right home and decided on Anthem Country Club because of its numerous amenities," Allison Anderson said. "We were planning our wedding while looking for a new home; in fact, the house was ready before we got married, so I moved in before Brian did." Among the amenities at the all-age community are a 3,700-square-foot athletic club with pools; cardiovascular equipment; an aerobic studio; locker and steam rooms; a full-service salon; and basketball, volleyball and tennis courts. "The trainers in the fitness center are excellent. They helped me get ready for my wedding day," she said. In addition, there is a clubhouse restaurant, lounge and poolside grill. "There is so much to do. ... We've even hiked near Lake Mead, (a trip) planned by Anthem Country Club's association," she said. Social membership is included with all home purchases; equity golf membership is optional. The community's 7,300-yard, par-72 championship golf course was designed by golfer Hale Irwin and architect Keith Foster. "Brian and I chose the Newport model which featured an extended patio and great room that we couldn't pass up," Anderson said. The 3,363-square-foot, single-story design has three bedroom, 3 1/2 baths, a den and three-car garage; it is part of the The Sterling Collection. "We're on the final countdown," senior sales manager Jeb Koury said. "We've only got one home remaining. The fully designed and furnished Huntington model, priced at $1.6 million." The single-story home measures 4,556 square feet and has four bedrooms; 4 1/2 baths; a den that has been converted into a wine room; a bonus room that has been converted into guest quarters; and a three-car garage. Koury said special incentives are being offered if the home is financed through the company's mortgage division. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, three miles past St. Rose Parkway, to the sales center, which is open from from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
