Second-home buyer chooses studio at The Residences at MGM Grand
SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
Gerry Schmidt said he discovered the ideal opportunity to purchase a second home in the Las Vegas Valley. He and his wife, Linda, live in Southern California and plan to visit their new condominium at The Residences at MGM Grand about once a month when it is completed in June.
"I learned about The Residences through a friend who purchased a mountain-view studio suite in one of the towers," Schmidt said. "I was looking for a second home in Las Vegas, and when I found out about The Residences, I discovered it had all the right components. Not only will my friends own residences here, but I'll have access to all of the amenities at MGM Grand."

The project will comprise three 40-story towers with 1,727 condominium-hotel units. Schmidt purchased a studio unit on the 37th floor of the first tower.
Sales director Dan Riordan said buyers appreciate the property's turnkey lifestyle.
"Owning a piece of real estate overlooking the Las Vegas Strip is a lifestyle choice," Riordan said. "Many of our buyers want to be able to walk to the attractions on the Strip, they want the amenities of a world-class hotel at their fingertips, and they want to enjoy the standard of excellence that Turnberry and MGM are bringing to this development."
All three towers are under construction; the first two are sold out and sales continue for the third.
Buyers can choose from studios, and one- and two-bedroom suites, all of which come furnished. They include crown molding, high-speed voice/data connectivity, granite counter tops, Italian kitchen cabinetry, Sub-Zero refrigerators, Miele appliances, baths with spa tubs, and flat-screen HDTVs.
Prices start from $600,000 to more than $2.5 million.
Each tower will feature 24-hour front desk and concierge services, in-suite dining and a guarded entrance. Additional amenities will include fitness centers and swimming pools.
The sales office is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily in the resort hotel's studio walk.
