MacDonald Highlands offers tee views

Located behind the guard-gated entrance of MacDonald Highlands, DragonRidge Country Club is a private residents clubhouse and golf course with views into the canyons, rock outcroppings and arroyos of the planned community.

"Outstanding views from MacDonald Highlands are one of the reasons for buying within our development," said developer Rich MacDonald. "DragonRidge itself is another. Prospective buyers are finding that each hole of DragonRidge is a surprise. The course is exciting to play no matter the skill level."

The clubhouse has an award-winning design of stone and glass, according to MacDonald. It features a gourmet dining room overlooking the Las Vegas skyline, two grills and lounges, fitness facility, swimming pool and a golf pro shop.

A 10,000-square-foot ballroom is a recent expansion to the clubhouse, allowing for larger events. A social membership to the country club is provided to owners upon application approval. Additional options in resident packages include golf, sport, corporate and social membership for residents and nonresidents.

The master-planned community includes three neighborhood parks, totaling 10 acres of tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, play areas and picnic facilities. In addition, five miles of fitness trails are planned with access to nature trails leading into the surrounding mountainside.

The community encompasses four custom-home neighborhoods, now under development with home sites providing city and mountain views, as well as views of DragonRidge Country Club. The neighborhoods of Palisades, Glenbrook Canyon, Dragon Gate and Stone Mountain Ridge offer one-half to more than 2-acre parcels. Prices begin at $950,000. Luxury homes begin at $1.4 million and offer hillside or golf locations.

To visit, take Interstate 215 east to Valle Verde Drive and travel south to the corner of Valle Verde and Horizon Ridge Parkway. The information center is located at 1730 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway. The sales center is open daily.
