Howard Hughes Corp. purchases furniture for school courtyard
The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of the Summerlin community, recently purchased outdoor furniture for the courtyard of Ober Elementary School, one of three new public schools in Summerlin. The donation, valued at more than $3,000, completes the courtyard, which is used by pupils and teachers, according to Scott Ober, principal of the school. "The courtyard is being used by each classroom on special occasions for outdoor lessons, and it provides a respite for teachers during their lunchtime," Ober said. "The five tables can accommodate an entire classroom and are specially designed to withstand the elements. We appreciate all that The Howard Hughes Corp. has done and continues to do to enhance the learning environment at Ober Elementary School." The community is home to 16 public and private schools and offers about 150 models priced from under $100,000 to more than $700,000. To visit the Summerlin Home Finding Center, travel west on Sahara Avenue, past Hualapai Way, to Town Center Drive. Or take Interstate 215 to Sahara Avenue. The center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
